Cognitive Fitness is a company founded on the idea that people can use their heart to change their mind about fitness. Its founders are Marla Fields and Cris Kessler, authors of Fresh Off the Couch!
Marla Fields has a BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin. She has been an instructor for over ten years, most recently at Lake Washington Technical College. She is a produced writer for television and film. Marla grew up in Madison, Wisconsin but has lived and worked on West Coast for over twenty years. She is happily married and lives in Seattle with her family where she is co-founder of Cognitive Fitness, a company that was created to bring fitness to everyone who wants it, even if they are still on the couch just thinking about getting fit.
Cris Kessler has a MSW from the University of Washington. She is a Heart Zones Level III Coach and Personal Trainer, Adjunct Faculty for the Graduate School of Social Work, University of Washington and Faculty member at the William Glasser Institute. Cris has been a Social Worker for over twenty-five years and a Heart Zone Trainer for the past five years. Cris lives in Seattle with her family. She has raced in Triathlons for the last twelve years, finishing in the top three in her weight and age class for both Olympic and Half Ironman distances. Cris is co-founder of Cognitive Fitness, a company created to teach those who want to be fit how to use their heart to change their mind about fitness.
